Tips for Parents
Parents are requested to:
- Closely monitor their ward's progress by checking the school diary everyday and pay attention to their punctuality, discipline and submission of school assignments.
- Read the circulars and diary notes carefully and consult the monthly planner.
- Read the rules and guidelines to the children.
- Encourage their ward to take a balanced interest in studies, co-curricular activities and sports
- Inform the school if there is any change in address, telephone number and bus route.
- Ensure that their ward does not bring expensive items, electronics items, cell phones etc. or large sum of money to school. The school bags should be randomly checked to ensure the same.
- Restrict pocket money to minimal. Excessive spending should be discouraged.
- Half day leave can be availed in case of emergency.Written permission must be taken from the Class Teacher and the Principal.
- Avoid early dispersal request as they not only create functional problems but may cause security hassles as well.
- Contact school to discuss and decide a plan of action to handle the difficulties (academic / behavioural) of their ward and to seek guidance.
- Meet the Principal / Class Teacher promptly if advised to do so.
- Discourage their ward from taking leave (except for medical reasons) if it can be avoided.
- Fill in the 'Leave Absence Record' in the Almanac.
- Send the required material and prepare their ward for the activities.
- Check their ward's usage of foul language as this is punishable in school.
- Refrain from criticising any teacher in the presence of the child.
- Sign their ward's report cards and return them to the Class Teacher within 3 days.
