Fri, 27th Apr 2018 - Interschool Singing Competition
Students of Vishal Bharti Public School added another feather in its cap by winning Interschool –‘Sublime Rendition’, an Interschool singing  Competition. It was organised by Cambridge Foundation School on 27th April, 2018. VBPS singers group got first prize for their highly energetic, enthusiastic, incomparable and outstanding performance. The audience swayed with delight and applauded in appreciation.

Principal, Ms Amita Saxena congratulated the participants with  motivating words.

Vishal Bharti Public School was abuzz with activities once again on the occasion of Earth Day. A special assembly was conducted on April 20, 2018. The celebration began with a thought on mother earth, unfurling the beauty of our planet and the need to protect it.

This was followed by a song sung by Class X C students- “This is our planet to share”. The melodious  song not only was helpful in spreading the message of making our planet a better place but it also left the audience spellbound.

A Street play was performed by the students of VII and VIII , with great gusto and enthusiasm , in an attempt to create awareness with regard to how our precious Earth can be saved from all human atrocities.

The principal Dr.Amita Saxena on this occasion planted a sapling of Ashoka in order to set an  example that with our little actions we can make a difference.

During  the Earth Month  celebrations in April , the students of classes III-XII teamed up together   for an easy , cost free, environmental project to protect the planet from harmful plastic bags.  The grocery paper bags  were acquired and distributed  to  students  in all classes. On 17th April  each student  decorated his/herthe paper bag, with colourful illustrations and meaningful environmental messages .

The decorated bags with messages to save mother Earth were distributed  to   the  grocery shops in Lal Market Paschim Vihar  on 18 thApril. The students  explained to the grocers  the  idea behind their action - to promote reuse and recycling , to discourage use of plastic bags.The grocers were enthusiastic and welcomed the young children who exhibited promotion of community awareness. The students too had a wonderful time doing the project and learned timely lessons on community service and ways to save Earth.

Under the able guidance of our Principal Dr. Amita Saxena, Orientation programme for parents of Preschoolers was organized on Saturday, 24 March 2018. The programme was attended by around 150 parents of tiny toddlers taking their first step towards schooling.

An informative session on parenting was conducted by Principal Dr. Amita Saxena and Pre School educators. The idea was to sensitize the parents towards the upbringing of their child as well as explain their role together with teachers in grooming their children. Parents were informed about school policies, rules and regulations, teaching -learning pedagogies adopted at school and how they can help their child to benefit optimally.

The junior school hosts various activities annually. Rock Sport ‘ a team to be never forgotten by anyone , brilliant team work was seenon VBPS grounds betweenRocksport  team  along with the teachers and students of Classes PS to II Many  exciting activities like Burma Bridge, Commando Net , Hippty Hop ,Tug of War, Cross Fire and Sports Climbing. Students participated enthusiastically in all the activities under the watchful supervision of the Rocksport team. Delicious food was served during lunch break and children relish it. The little ones were doing these activities for the first time and enjoyed the day camp thoroughly.

Vishal  Bharti  Public  School, Paschim Vihar   has received the much coveted ‘International School Award  by the British Council  for the period 2017-20’. It is a recognition for its year long pursuit for providing its students international dimension and global exposure in education.The Award Ceremony was hosted by British Council on 13th December,2017 at Charbagh,British Council Division New Delhi.
It was a momentous occasion where the school Principal, Dr Amita Saxena along with the school ISA Coordinator, Ms Suruchi Dahiya received the Award for successfully accomplishing the educational objectives set by British Council.
It has always been the school's endeavour to impart quality education to its students and equip them with essential skills to emerge as responsible global citizens. Under the ISA initiative, the students of the school collaborated with partner schools from different schools in  US and shared knowledge and views on different global issues through technology based mediums like Skype sessions, e-mails etc.
The school witnessed a colourful bonanza of activities on the themes like Global Extravaganza, The Dream Destination, Dances around the World, Go Green to Keep the World Clean etc. The ISA activities carried out throughout the session involved the participation of all the students and staff members.
Through the ISA activities, the students learnt various values like inter-personal skills, team spirit, cross cultural acceptance and global citizenship. The ISA journey brought about a great value addition in the lives of students, preparing each one of them to keep abreast with the rapidly changing world.
The International School Award is yet another milestone in the school's journey towards excellence.

Bharat Ko Jano Competition
To ignite curiosity and love for their mother India, Bharat Ko Jano Quiz Competition was organized by Bharat Vikas Parishad at State Level in Doon Public  School, Paschim Vihar on Nov 12, 2017. Two students of  V.B.P.S, Durgeshwar Mahto of class XI and Subhodeep Paul of class IX have brought laurels to the School by bagging the Ist position at Senior Level.  Medhavi Bhardwaj of class VIII and Bhavini Jain of class VII bagged IVth position at Junior Level.

This competition apprised the students about ancient and modern glory of India, its glorious history and culture, literature, geography, natural resources etc and also to arouse curiosity in them to know more about our country & realise that India is less than no one in the world. Dr. Amita  Saxena, Principal  lauded the performance of the students and wished good luck to Durgeshwar and Subhodeep for Regional Level competition.

Primary Level- Ad Mad Competition in Ms Word (Classes III-V)

An Inter-House Ad Mad Competition was organized on 15.11.2017 for classes III-V in the school premises. Each team of houses created innovative advertisement using great ideas & catchy punch lines on the topics -Khadi products, Nutritional drink, Smartphone. The competition provided students a platform to demonstrate their understanding of the world of advertisement and acquainted the students about promotional strategies in marketing.Participants were judged on the basis of Content,Software Knowledge, Presentation.All the teams participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. Judges praised the efforts of students for creating advertisement with great ideas & punch line in software Ms Word.

The greatest gift we will ever know
 is a child, born to love and grow  

Children are innocent, children are mischievous, but children bring a smile to every one's face. One of the most treasured possessions on earth; children are loved by one and all. Children’s Day is celebrated to commemorate the healthy growth and happiness of children.

Children's Day was celebrated with immense joy and enthusiasm in the school premises on 14th November 2017. Teachers organized various programmes and events to keep the students happy. A special assembly was organized by teachers. Some teachers enacted as children and presented a special mime programme. Some sang songs and danced for their beloved students. The programme started with a ramp walk by senior teachers who were dressed up in blue to symbolize the importance of our dying rivers. It was followed by a melodious song sung by Mr. K.C. A group of teachers presented colourful dances also and made the morning memorable.

The future destiny makers of our country were mesmerized by the spectacular performance of their teachers and were thankful to their mentors for taking out time from their tight schedules and make the day memorable for them. Principal Dr. Amita Saxena applauded the efforts of the teachers, wished the children and stressed that one must always keep the child alive in him/her.

VISHAL BHARTI CHAIRPERSON CONFERRED WITH ‘AWARD OF APPRECIATION’ BY VICE PRESIDENT SH. VENKAIAH NAIDU.

On the occasion of 13th Foundation Day of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti AHIMSA DIWAS SAMAROH was organized on Sunday ,12th Nov 2017 at Vigyan Bhawan , New Delhi. The Chief Guest of this prestigious ceremony was Honorable Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India. Many other distinguished Guests like Shri Rajat Sharma, Chairman and Editor –In –Chief, India TV, Smt. Kiran Chopra Chairperson, Varisth Nagrik Kesari Club, Mr. Satpal Singh, religious preacher and Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni were present on the occasion.

The event commenced with a song presentation by the VBPS choir. The students sang beautifully and mesmerized the august gathering with their melody.

The Chief Guest Honourable Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu emphasized the need of moral values in his speech. The Vice President stressed on the need for peace and a harmonious environment in the society to achieve the benefits of development. He hoped that the Ahimsa Vishva Bharti Institution would play an important role in society and nation building.

The crowning glory of the event was the prestigious "Award of Appreciation" which was conferred upon the chairperson of Vishal Bharti Public School, Shri Mahavir Ji Goel, by the Vice President of India for his contribution in the field of Education.

The event concluded with the speech of Acharya Dr Lokesh , a social reformer, versatile thinker, writer and poet. He stressed upon the efforts being made by his organization for establishing communal harmony, non- violence, peace, mutual co-operation in the society. The day ended with a sumptuous lunch which was enjoyed by all.

The activity paved way for students to go beyond their fantasy world. The repetition of topics in chorus enhanced their understanding of concepts , blossomed their creativity and made learning possible in an infotainment manner. Children wore colourful attires, prepared relevant props , flashcards and headgears to supplement the activity. This event provided an excellent opportunity to the students to summarise the concept learned by them.

It can be aptly concluded by stating that this kind of a learning will always help to make the lessons afresh in a child's mind. The efforts of the students were appreciated by  Principal Dr Amita Saxena.

A workshop on Glide Over Challenges in Pre School was organized by Next Education on 28th October 2017 at Mount Abu Public School Sec-5 Rohini. Ms.Hena Bhattacharya and Ms. Pallavi Sethi attended the workshop from Vishal Bharti Public School. Around 30 teachers attended the workshop from all over the Delhi.

Ms .Veena Raizada was the resource person. Topics like Pre School curriculum, methodology, conceptually vertical connection between different classes, learning environment that supports children’s growth and development and the importance of positive interactions with parents and children were discussed. Various rhymes and activities were also conducted to explain the topics.

The session was concluded by giving away the certificates to all the teachers. It was an interactive and informative session for all.
